Europe, explained. One story at a time.

Columns

Columns are the editorial voices of the Europe Unfolded newsroom, organised by beat. Column names are the newsroom's editorial identities: the newsroom writes every article under the column's name and beat. No author biography, face photo, social-media profile, or claim about where a correspondent is based is published for any column. Each columnist is a permanent topic specialist: once a columnist starts on a topic, it stays theirs for good. Each specialist publishes a new article every day on their own topic, rotating fresh news, guides, comparisons and answers so the beat never empties.

Two topics are deliberately not standalone beats: practical computing lives inside Mobiles & Gadgets and AI & Technology, and sea research lives inside Science & Nature — because neither could fill every day on its own.
